Ginger Nuts, Colliders, and Horror For Good!

A lot has happened in the last couple of weeks. So let’s start with a highlight.

Jim McLeod of the Ginger Nuts of Horror review site has some lovely words to say about my story in Phobophobia. Go have a read of the review if you’re so inclined. He’s about half way through covering all the stories in this huge volume but seems to be enjoying it so far. The guy totally gets where I was coming from with L is for Lygophobia and it’s a huge thrill for any writer when that happens.

Next up is the not so good news. World’s Collider is looking for a new publisher. I want to thank the folks at Open Casket Press for giving me the backing to get this started but in the end the fit wasn’t right.

This is a new beginning for this exciting anthology and already there have been some interesting developments. As soon as I have news you will hear it here. In the meantime, nearly all the stories are in and the result is just blowing me away. The quality of the individual works, and the larger story they are contributing to, I truly believe the end result will be something special. Lots of work still to do but I think it will be worth the wait.

In the meantime, have a read of the new Richard Wright interview. Well worth your time. There are additional World’s Collider interviews also available on this site, with Adam Colston, Trent Zelazny, Jonathan Green and James Moran.

And lastly some absolutely fantastic news. Horror For Good is a charity anthology benefiting AIDS research charity amfAR. The line up so far announced includes such massive names as Joe R Lansdale, Ramsey Campbell, Jack Ketchum and Gary McMahon, to name just a few. I’m delighted to say that a humble tale written by myself will be appearing in this landmark collection. While I’m positive that nobody will be buying the anthology for my story, I hope it won’t disappoint those who buy it for the rest of the astonishing line up or to help out the charity. A huge thrill this one.
