Solaris Rising released!

It’s release day for Solaris Rising: The New Solaris Book of Science Fiction. I still have to pinch myself that my little skewed-time story is part of a lineup that includes Peter F. Hamilton, Alastair Reynolds, Stephen Baxter, Paul di Filippo and Adam Roberts. Excuse me while I sit down for a moment…

OK, that’s better.

The collection has been reviewed already, by Lois Tilton of Locus Online. It’s anyone’s guess as to whether or not she liked my story, but her opinion of the collection as a whole is positive and that’s great to see.

I think Yestermorrow is the best thing I’ve ever written. It’s certainly the most structurally complex. If you decide to order a print or electronic copy of Solaris Rising — and with this lineup, why wouldn’t you? — I’d love to hear what you think of my humble piece.

Here’s the full TOC:

  1. I just finished reading “Yestermorrow,” and without a doubt it is the best short “time-travel” story that I’ve read — and I’ve read a lot in the past 50 years. What a totally different concept (at least, to me!). Bravo!

    1. Thanks so much, John, both for taking the time to post here and for your very kind words. I’m thrilled and humbled that you rate my story so highly, especially given how many stories you must be comparing it to! Made my week…
