Machine of Death 2 – the table of contents!

I'm proud of (most of) my story sales, but last year when I heard I'd made it into Machine of Death 2 I couldn't believe it. The sheer volume of submissions (nearly 2,000!) was mind-boggling, and for my tale to be picked out of such a huge slush pile was astonishing and deeply humbling. So here is the table of contents for the second volume of this best selling anthology series. Courtesy of the Machine of Death site, lots of details have been revealed. There's no release date yet, but interes...

The story behind the World’s Collider cover!

So here it is, the cover to World's Collider. I'm pretty pleased with it. The cover image was produced by Lukas Thelin of Foxrain, a digital media company based in Sweden and associated with World's Collider contributor, Steven Savile. He approached me around the time we were looking for a new publisher and offered Foxrain's services for a cover. Now, I already had a cover artist lined up, the fantastically talented Carolyn Edwards who produced the wonderful Eiffel Tower image that adorns our...

The Large Hutchinson Collider

Anyone who "likes" the World's Collider Facebook page will know that we announced a new contributor to the anthology this week. Dave Hutchinson, pictured left, has now come aboard and we're thrilled to have him. This wasn't exactly planned upfront. Unfortunately Adam Colston decided recently to withdraw from the anthology. While this is a shame, I remain hopeful that his story, A Million Tiny Kisses, will one day see the light of day, perhaps as a web story. Adam's story features a great idea...

The very first World’s Collider Promotional Image!

Is it true? Is it really the very first promotional image for the World's Collider anthology? Why yes, it is. Beautifully painted by Carolyn Edwards, the guys at Nightscape Press added the words and the result, I think you'll agree, is pretty cool. This may or may not end up being the cover for the anthology itself -- we're discussing various options right now. We will be using this image for the front of a rather snazzy promotional postcard, which will be handed out at conventions and such in t...

World’s Collider signs with Nightscape Press!

As you may have heard this week, I've signed with a new publisher for World's Collider, the shared-world apocalyptic anthology I am currently editing. Nightscape Press is a brand new venture from two of the editors behind Horror For Good, the charity anthology with the killer line up. Mark Scioneaux and Robert Shane Wilson have big plans for NSP and it's a thrill to be their first project out of the gate. (more…)

New banner time

I thought it was about time to update my banner with some more recent publications, and a couple of older covers that seem to balance well. Of course, I have no artistic sensibilities whatsoever, so if you think it looks terrible by all means let me know. I have seen the cover art for World's Collider, by the way, and it's gorgeous. Carolyn Edwards is a star. A big announcement is coming soon regarding this shared-world apocalyptic anthology. Not long to wait now, my lovelies.

Gotrek & Felix, pre-orders and extracts

Right now, Gotrek and Felix The Anthology is available for pre-order. If you get it direct from the Black Library you can own it before it reaches bookstores. My story's title is causing a few raised eyebrows among fans of Warhammer's longest running series with speculation about what it means for the future of this heroic duo. Now you can read a (second) extract from The Funeral of Gotrek Gurnisson on the Black Library blog. Just scroll down to the second half of the page.   The firs...
